Water sports and diving

2 hours to half a day
Diving November to April; wind sports June to August

Reefs ring most of the Mauritian coast, making calm lagoons ideal for snorkelling, with scuba sites beyond for beginners and experienced divers. One of the finest places is Blue Bay Marine Park in the south-east, protected since 2000, with clear, shallow water. Diving is best from November to April, when the water is warm, calm and clear.

Surfing and windsurfing are best in winter, from June to August, when the trade wind is strongest, and Le Morne is the best-known spot. We arrange a private instructor, or a private boat to the dive sites.

Good to know

  • Blue Bay Marine Park is one of the best snorkelling spots
  • Private instructors for every level
