Tanah Lot Temple

Pura Tanah Lot

Tanah Lot stands at Beraban in Tabanan Regency, about 20 km north-west of Denpasar. The temple is attributed to the 16th-century sage Dang Hyang Nirartha and is one of Bali's seven principal sea temples, dedicated to the god of the sea.

The rock can be reached on foot only at low tide, so we time your visit to the tides. It is busiest at sunset; we suggest arriving an hour before to find a quiet place on the facing cliffs.
