The Sultan Mosque

Masjid Sultan

The mosque's history goes back to 1824, under Sultan Hussein Shah; the present building, designed by Denis Santry, was completed in 1932 and named a National Monument in 1975. It stands at 3 Muscat Street, its prayer hall holds about 5,000 worshippers, and Friday prayers are held here. Visitors are welcome outside prayer times, in modest dress.
