Tom Yum Kung

A Thai soup that is hot and sour at once; its name means, roughly, 'boiled and mixed'. Its best-known form is made with prawns, and it is also made with chicken; few dishes say more about Thai flavour. In December 2024 UNESCO added tom yum kung to the list of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity, as the culinary wisdom of the riverside communities of Thailand's Central Plains.
