A forested island with a kilometre of white sand inside Baa Atoll's UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Swim with manta rays, help rehabilitate sea turtles, and rest at the AyurMa wellness centre.
Inside a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve
Landaa Giraavaru is a forested island in Baa Atoll, where bright blue water meets green jungle and white sand, all within a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Blu beach runs for a kilometre, ending in a sand spit, with Blu Beach Club for lunch or dinner. You can swim with manta rays, help the resort's team rehabilitate injured sea turtles, and spend time at AyurMa, a wellness centre built around the health of people and the planet.
Villas and suites line the lagoon, each with a private pool, outdoor seating and a direct view of the protected water.
Modern tradition
The villas and bungalows were designed by the Sri Lankan architect Murad Ismail, who combined Maldivian building methods with Sri Lankan style: high thatched roofs pitched at 45 degrees, traditional coral-stone walls and tropical gardens.
On the water
The water villas stand over the calm lagoon, with floor-to-ceiling windows on the Indian Ocean, large sun decks, outdoor showers and nets slung over the water.
