City

About Helvetia Hotel

An independent hotel in a 19th-century mansion in the centre of St Petersburg, run in the spirit of a European family hotel. 85 warm, elegant rooms and two restaurants, one open around the clock.

A private hotel with a Petersburg soul

Helvetia is an independent hotel in a 19th-century mansion in the centre of St Petersburg. Privately run in the tradition of European family hotels, it is known for its warmth and the feel of a real Petersburg home, with attentive service from the moment you arrive.

Rooms and suites

There are 85 comfortable rooms in the centre of the city, classic in style with modern touches, as well suited to business as to a holiday.

The historic mansion

The building is protected by the state as part of Russia's architectural heritage, its facade carried by distinctive Atlantes. The hotel has two buildings: one on lively Marata Street, the other set back in a quiet, romantic courtyard.

The mansion took its present form in 1850 to designs by the architect August Lange, after whom one of the suites is now named. Marata Street was known as Preobrazhenskaya and then Nikolaevskaya until 1918, when it was renamed after the French revolutionary Jean-Paul Marat.

Meetings and events

Two elegant rooms, Basel and Bern, are equipped with current technology, with full technical support and careful service for every event.

Dining

At the table

International flavours in a classic Petersburg setting: two restaurants, Café Claret and Brasserie Marius, and room service from both menus, more than 160 dishes between them. From May to October a terrace opens in the courtyard for eating outdoors.
