Niyama Private Islands Maldives

Two islands, Chill and Play, and a private surf break in Dhaalu Atoll

Beachfront

About Niyama Private Islands Maldives

134 villas across two private islands in Dhaalu Atoll, each with its own Thakuru. Dine in the trees, under the sea or out on the ocean, and surf a few steps from your villa.

Two islands, two moods

Niyama is spread across two private islands in Dhaalu Atoll: hidden coves, thick jungle full of birdsong, rich reefs and real surf breaking on the shore. One island is called Chill, the other Play, and the names tell you most of what you need to know.

Set your own pace. There are fitness bootcamps, family dolphin trips, cooking adventures and underwater glow parties after dark. Or keep it simple: your villa, the spa, a candlelit dinner, and time with the people you came with.

At a glance

  • 134 beach and overwater villas, each with a personal Thakuru
  • Award-winning dining in the trees, under the sea and around the fire
  • Water sports and the most luxurious surf experience in the Maldives
  • A complete world for children
  • 45 minutes by seaplane from Malé, with a private airport lounge
  • Or a 30-minute domestic flight to Dhaalu airport and a 10-minute speedboat

Where to stay

  • Beach villas: on both Chill and Play, facing the ocean with private beach access.
  • Water villas: above a clear lagoon where turtles swim, with steps and a deck to dive from.
  • Pavilions: at the far end of the island for complete seclusion, with fibre-optic lit pools and jacuzzis with underwater speakers.
  • The Crescent: the resort's finest address, surrounded only by water: six bedrooms, five pools, three lounges and a team of butlers for up to 22 guests.

What is new

Niyama is evolving, with renewed villas, more sensory dining, an active-living programme and more to explore across both islands: hidden caves, tree-top adventures, a private surf break and underwater dining.
